Asheville is Alive!
Dear Competition Officials, In 2010 the United States Equestrian Federation held the "My USEF Favorite Breed Competition" contest. On December 22, 2010 USEF sent a press release announcing the winners for each breed. We wouid like to congratulate the Piedmont Classic Horse Show on being included in the list of winners! We don't get a lot of evaluations (good or bad) in a year's time and the fact that your exhibitors took the time to tell us about their positive experience at your show means a lot! We'd like to share some of those comments with you below: "I love showing

As a breed category winner, you will be receiving a 2010 Favorite Breed Competition plaque from USEF' sometime in January for this accomplishment. Once again, we would like to congratulate your competition on being one of the favorite USCF competitions among Paso Fino exhibitors. We appreciate your efforts in making this USF.F competition a special event for exhibitors each year and thank you for continuing to hold USEF licensed competitions in the future. Please look for the voting to start up again in 2011! Lori Nelson Thank you to everyone that attended and supported Asheville ALIVE 2010! Exhibitors, spectators, sponsors, vendors and more all celebrated the 28th annual Piedmont Classic Paso Fino Horse Show. We enjoyed the many exciting events Asheville ALIVE 2010 had to offer including the Orthoflex Exhibitor Party, BMW's “Black Tie & Boots Extravaganza” and the Tractor Supply Youth Pavilion. The arena was filled with a festival atmosphere, the classes offered intense competition and everyone enjoyed browsing and shopping the new vendors of Asheville. To the many sponsors, “Thank You” for your support whether through monetary contributions or donations in-kind, we cannot do it without your support! Our Youth competitors enjoyed the many workshops in the Tractor Supply Youth Pavilion learning new skills from our professionals. “Thank you” to Kathy Yarborough for your generous support of our youth for the $200 show voucher that enabled each youth to participate in their classes. It was exciting to see the future of our breed to be so involved in the many activities offered at Asheville ALIVE. "Thank you" to our show officials and announcers for their outstanding commitment and performance for our Paso Fino breed! The classes were filled with exceptional horses and competitors! Our exhibitors and spectators gathered in Asheville from far away places including Miami to Alberta, Canada! For all these spectacular reasons, this is why the Piedmont Classic has been nicknamed "The Mini-Nationals". The concept of Asheville ALIVE 2010 had been in the works for over a year and is the foundation to build upon for future years of Asheville ALIVE ! CART RENTALS STALL ASSIGNMENTS:
Show committee reduced stall fees to a flat $100 per stall. Will
be first come first reserved -- Farms/Exhibitors need to
send a $100 deposit to Jill Graff
to secure reservations for # of stalls and location. All
reservations will be date stamped and stalls assigned upon receipt
of deposit to be applied to final show bill. NO PHONE CALLS will
be excepted for reservations.

Asheville ALIVE 2010 Presents Karen Head on Thursday, June 24th @ 5pm Karen Head, the founder and director of Equinection, is a nationally recognized practitioner in equine facilitated learning. Karen has worked with hundreds of participants, helping them to gain insight and awareness to enrich their lives. From the age of 5, Karen has worked with horses. She has an eclectic equestrian background from attending the Greenway School of Equitation to working as a cowhand on a commercial cattle ranch. Karen brings vitality and passion to her work with clients at Equinection. She is an Advanced Epona Approach Facilitator, A Nationally Certified Equine Learning Facilitator and holds a master's degree in Creative Arts Education. She is a co-author of the book, “Horses as Teachers”. "Language of Leadership" -- Come Discover the Answers to Frequently asked Questions!
