NEW
2008
Asheville Show Packet, Class
Listing Only
The 2008 Piedmont Classic is approaching very quickly. From all
indications we are going to have a very successful show. Stall
requests are coming in, Farm sponsorships are being spoken for,
Vendors are signing up and the excitement is building. Our theme
this year is “Come Feel the Beat” and our logo horse
has electric color and presence which is a true representation
of our beautiful Paso Finos that will be in the ring. Jeanne Griggs
and her committee have been hard at work and promise to have another
beautiful center ring for us. Ann Furr has been working hard on
getting our sponsors for each class, as well as working with our
youth in preparation for an exciting Flag demonstration on Saturday
night. Robbie Davis and Ali Casey are working with our Farm Sponsors
and Stallion Exhibition participants. Jim Sefert is trying to
line up another live remote at the show this year.
The show has been reduced to four full days and with the addition
of the palm pilots for the judges we should conclude each evening
between 9 - 10 pm. We have scheduled an exhibitors party for Thursday
night complete with some entertainment. Our show secretary and
office personnel from Four Winds West have some new technology
to bring to the show. They have a monitor and computer that will
be set up outside of the show office that will contain all the
classes, entrees, etc. for you to have the most up to date information
right at your fingertips. The show office personnel will each
have a computer and they will all be tied together so there should
not be any long lines. Galopando TV will be filming the show for
videos and also a live Broadcast via their web site.
Our announcers this year are our own Paulette DeNault and Bernie
Santana from Florida. Both are dynamic speakers full of enthusiasm
and vigor. Both are fluent in Spanish and English. Mark your calendar,
make those motel reservations and plan to come to the Mountains
and the spectacular Piedmont Classic! A new feature for our show
this year, our entry form is on the PFHA web site. Complete your
entries online,
PFHA will verify all your membership and horse information, forward
the entry on to the show secretary and you can even pay thru pay
pal.

The Asheville show is almost here! One of the most effective
means of advertising is show flyers. Please help us distribute
show flyers in your area. I will email you the file, or I will snail
mail you printed 8x10 posters. The poster looks great on a light
colored paper. Please contact Lori West at lorihwest@yahoo.com
to have the .pdf emailed to you, or call 828-683-1793. Please let
me know what areas you will be distributing the flyers, to avoid
duplication. Thanks in advance for helping make the

The
NC State Fair Horse Paso Fino "Raleigh" Show is October
20th
NEW
2008
NC State Fair Show Flyer
New for 2008 will be the Trail Obstacle class moving
to the outside arena. Trail is the first class after the lunch break,
and this will give the trail class exhibitors a chance to practice
the obstacles ahead of time. It will also have the main arena available
for schooling during the lunch break. The Pleasure Driving class
was removed from the schedule due to lack of participation. The
Wine Glass class will be moved to after the Performance Championship
as then exhibitors will still be in "formal" attire for
this fun class. The Wine Glass class will be the last class before
the lunch break. There is usually a good spectator crowd at that
time in the arena. Draft Horse classes will again be intermixed
with the Paso Fino classes in the evening. The earlier move-in time
of 4pm on Sunday which suited exhibitors better in 2007 will again
be available. The Pole Bending "fun-sport" class was popular
with exhibitors and spectators alike in 2007 will be held again,
so let's see a few more Paso Finos in that class to make it even
more exciting to watch!
Glenn Petty is the NC State Fair Show Manager. Flat Rock Farm's
Ali and Paul Casey will be hosting their delicious Bar-B-Que to
exhibitors on Sunday night again. Rick Shaffer and Derek Fernandez
are the judges for the show. Fred Moretti is the PFHA steward.
