It's a great time to be riding, not cold not hot, its just right... Hope everyone spent lots of time with family and friends over Thanksgiving and you do the same for Christmas. It's about the time and what you do, not what you get or give! I know all will give also give their favorite horse a great big hug and an apple or two and if you cant just decide give them all a hug! There's only one better thing than hugging your horse and that is hugging your family. I know I have been traveling a good bit and I always look forward to going home. Merry Christmas to all.

Pathfinders, Please turn in
your hours so we can have them for end of the show season
banquet awards! You guys are out there riding, take credit,
if you are part of a barn, put out the gauntlet and challenge
each other for top honors for training and fun riding! If
you are a parent or a kid, challenge your family for top honors
in the family! Have fun and RIDE, RIDE, RIDE!

While it has been
hot, sure hope you made time to get up early to beat the heat
and ride! Dwayne and Parker Tilley had a great arrangement
at a show recently in Lexington, Virginia. Dwayne got to show
on Friday and then they both trail rode on Saturday and Sunday.
Parker shared that they rode for over two hours along with
Larry and Teressa down to the river and the "wrong"
way back to make it even more fun! All had a great time and
the horses did get to play in the creek several times.
Please send me your hours so I can update our sheet showing
how much we get to have fun riding. Again it is an honors
program, so you don’t have to log each minute, round your
time by the week or month and send me the update!

I hope everyone is getting
their rides in and taking care with the sun and the bugs (yes,
its that time of the year again). Anyone with a good bug spray
mix? Send it in and share. I found one that uses Citronella,
Skin So Soft, Apple Cider vinegar -- add about 1 ounce of
each, then add to a quart sprayer bottle, top it off with
water. If it's not strong enough, adjust up equally, but don't
exceed 1/2 the volume of the water. Crochet ears work well
to keep the bugs off the ears, and there are the fly masks
as well. Don't forget to spray yourself and use sunscreen!
I know you are out there riding,
send me your hours. I need shirt size for New Members and
I still owe Keely a shirt. Sign up at Asheville for Pathfinders
and think about the Paso For Pleasure Program at the NationalLevel,
I recently passed 2000 hours. Long time in getting there,
but still logging my hours.
Have new hours posted as of
this weekend. I am sure many will have more hours after the
Memorial Day holiday to provide for me. I will be at Asheville
if anyone wants to give me hours there.

Welcome new members Dwayne
and Parker Tilley! I know there will be a lot of competition
in that household as who has the most hours logged this year.
Please send me your updates so I can post. Will have Lynn
post all new hours next time. Looking forward to seeing how
many hours are being logged!
I am in the 400 hour range and while working a good bit that
is probably not going to increase much, but when home, I ride!

Hi Fellow Pathfinders!
From Winter Cold to Spring
Wind and Rain Storms, we have had a fun couple of months this
year to work around and ride. But those in between days --
wow, so nice. I did love the flirting with '80' days and I
did ride, ride, ride. I am like you and forget to record my
hours in the saddle, but I do my best. I am over the 300 mark
for Piedmont, yeah and working towards my 2250 hours for Pasos
for Pleasure. If you are a Pathfinder, I suggest you join
the National level Pasos For Pleasure recreational program
as well. All it takes is just like us, be a member and join
the program and ride, ride, ride and oh yeah, have fun, take
your friend and family and like me, dogs along!

Hi fellow Pathfinders!
Wow, what great weather after such cold and almost miserable
winter! I am in the saddle logging time and wet saddle blankets
- How about you? I am sure you are as well with such weather.
Drop me an email at riofino@yahoo.com
so that I can update you hours. All reported hours will go
on 2011 as I had all hours sent to me for 2010! Lets work
towards time in the saddle (fun) and remember, there is an
award out there for most hours logged in the show year that
will be given away at our annual banquet.
I have managed after a slow
December and January to really ride. My longest ride lately
was this week and I rode 9.5 miles. If you have a smart phone,
look for a ap called Jog tracker. I got the free version and
it tracks your ride, tells you how long you were out there
and how many miles you rode. Really neat when you are out
in the woods and making new trails! What Aps do you know that
would work? Send me and email or write Lynn about your ride
and of course send pictures!
Best of all, have fun, until
we meet on the trails, at the shows and of course, make plans
to join us at our annual membership meetings!

"BRRR..." is all
I can say, what a cold, and white start to our 2011 trail
riding. I did get a couple of days of riding inso far, hope
you have as well. Please send me your hours as you make your
award levels. The first level is 50 hours and as I approach
and pass my 300th hour with Piedmont and getting to 2000 hours
with Pasos for Pleasure, I can honestly say, I am a better
rider for all the time in the saddle. A bad day in the saddle
is still way better than a good day somewhere else. Do you
have snow pictures of you and your horses? Send them to Lynn
so we can update our gallery!
