Scholarship Recipients Awarded at Piedmont Classic
The
Piedmont Paso Fino Horse Association awarded individual scholarships
to three Piedmont Youth who have exhibited achievements in scholastics,
community service, participation in Paso Fino related activities
and shows, contributions to other youth in our association and
specific college related goals for the future. Each of those
selected were chosen based on their submission of the completed
application by the due date which included an essay and letters
of recommendation.
Christina Minter, daughter of Charlie and Milda Minter received
a $500.00 scholarship which will go towards Christina's tuition
at Auburn University where she is a rising sophomore.
Cassie
Oakes, daughter of Dale and Lisa Oakes received a $500.00 scholarship
and will be attending Virginia Intermont College as a freshman
in the fall.
Wesley Anderson, son of Kent and Margi Anderson received a $2000.00
scholarship and will be attending Emory University in the fall.
We are very proud of each of these young people and look forward
to them becoming successful individuals who will help others
as they pursue their goals and aspirations.
This year these young people have also been challenged to help
our association with fund raising ideas and plans for our scholarship
fund. We recognize that while it is a tough time economically,
we need to realize the importance and value of the youth and
their contributions and they are the future of our organization.
